Collaboration plays a vital role in driving innovation forward. GEAR-UP is proud to be part of the EU Circularity Cluster—a cohesive, EU-wide innovation ecosystem that fosters sustainable industrial transformation. Together, these projects support smart, resilient, and green manufacturing across Europe. The EU Circularity Cluster are projects funded under the HORIZON-CL4-2024-TWIN-TRANSITION-01-05 call.
CIRCMAN 5.0 is an initiative aimed at transforming the photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing sector into a more sustainable and efficient industry through the use of curcular manufacturing principles. This project focuses on developing a human-centered, AI-aided digital framework designed to optimize the entire lifecycle of PV products – from design and production to end-of-life recovery. By integrating cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning, digital twins, and blockchain, CIRCMAN 5.0 seeks to reduce environmental impact, enhance resource efficiency, and foster a sustainable future.

DATA4CIRC is developing an innovative data-sharing framework to help European manufacturing prepare for a more sustainable future. Its mission is to improve access to the information factories need to efficiently and safety recover, recycle, and reuse materials, and move towards a circular economy.

DIAMETER is a Horizon Europe project pioneering the transition to a more sustainable, digital manufacturing industry. By combining hybrid additive manufacturing (AM) with advanced AI-driven decision tools, DIAMETER empowers industries to implement circular-by-design production models that reduce waste, cut emissions, and increase efficiency.

Digi4Circular is a Horizon Europe project tackling the environmental impact of the automotive sector, which is responsible for 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions and consumes vast amounts of raw materials, particularly aluminium. By promoting the use of secondary aluminium and embedding circularity principles into product development, the project aims to significantly reduce emissions and material waste. It delivers a powerful digital platform that integrates automated design workflows, machine learning, and life cycle analysis to support the creation of circular products.

The ENCIRCLE project is an ambitious initiative focused on revolutionizing the manufacturing sector by driving a transition from traditional, linear production methods to sustainable, circular models. At the heart of this project is a comprehensive framework that leverages cutting-edge technologies like Digital Twins, Soft Sensors, and a Digital Product Passport, all embedded within a simulated virtual production line. This virtual environment is not only a testing ground but also a platform for advancing artificial intelligence and training the workforce through gamified experiences. With a human-centered design approach, ENCIRCLE integrates Human-in-the-Loop methodologies, where humans and AI collaborate symbiotically to optimize manufacturing processes for minimal environmental impact.

PSS-Pass project will examine the operation and efficiency of PSS and digital product passport (DPP). The data collected will be used to explore how DPP can be expanded into a Digital Product Service System Passport (DPSSP) to enhance the circularity of the manufacturing industry. The project aims to leverage PSS to improve product use and reduce environmental impact.
